There’s nothing quite like the focus and passion generated by someone on a personal mission to do good in the world. That’s what we saw when we met up with health advocate, musician and vegan animal campaigner, Pola Pospiezalska, who shows that, by applying huge focus to what matters to you delivers big positive impact upon the world.
Name: Pola Pospiezalska
Location: Sydney, Australia currently, but it changes all the time with my touring!
What’s your story?
I was born in Poland into a very musical family. My dad as well as all his siblings were performing musicians and that meant I practically grew up in the recording studio and doing backing vocals for my family and other popular musicians.
At the age of 21 I moved to London to pursue a career in marketing, but after a while I realised I really missed being on stage! And so soon I was fully back to writing and performing. My debut album “My Favourite Town” was released in 2009.
In 2012 I co-founded a charity called K-9 Angels. In seven years we have helped thousands of stray dogs to find loving homes as well as receive medical help and food.
I continue to perform and go on tour on average once a year. I am a mum to a teenage boy and four dogs too!

What is the toughest adversity you’ve faced on your journey to living your best life, and how did you overcome this?
From the outside I guess one could never say I faced any adversities. My life looked totally glamorous and appealing on social media – I was popular, mingling with celebrities, traveling the world for music and I was doing my part in making the world a better place participating in countless animal welfare and vegan campaigns, as well as growing a coaching business.
However, not many people knew that I had struggled with anxiety for many years.
To keep healthy I had to do my bit daily – be disciplined about eating well, getting sleep, exercising etc. I also had to make adjustments to my lifestyle, including what people I allowed into my life.
I learnt that there will always be times when things don’t go our way, and in some cases no measure of your own strength can actually save us. This is where I discovered the power of prayer. And how in those quiet moments of surrender it is either able to equip you with a solution to your problem, or with peace needed to endure. I would very much like to take total credit for overcoming the worst in my life, bottle it up, patent it and sell it, but I believe I owe my healing and the biggest blessings to the love of the big man upstairs.
What’s your goal for the next chapter?
My biggest passions are music and charity work, so that’s something I want to combine in the future.
I can’t ever see myself doing a job I do not enjoy. I have always been 100% blessed with sometimes completely unreasonable courage to pursue all my passions and ideas, and I am sure if I keep that alive the best is yet to come 🙂 It’s all about vision, purpose and giving back.
