Hey! Wes here. When was the last time you truly felt great, from the inside out? Can you think of a time when you felt healthy, happy, relaxed, confident and strong? Hopefully for lots of you, this will be the case more often than not. But we can probably also all think of a time where we might have looked in good shape from the outside, but on the inside felt like we were falling apart.

At Wes Myron Fitness we work with such a wide range of clients. Some of our clients come to us because while they’re pretty happy with their overall lives, they have a specific fitness goal they want to achieve. For others, it’s the opposite – they’ve been working out hard for years, but have lost that sense of balance which comes from addressing your whole lifestyle, and feel run down, stressed out and unhappy.

What we try to do for everyone we work with is to build a program which is going to address every aspect of your life – mind and body. I’m very lucky to have played professional hockey for a while. During that time, I learned so much about mindset and motivation, and I understand firsthand how to balance the pressure of external expectations with what is going to truly make you feel satisfied and happy on the inside too.

I think the mistake a lot of people make is to focus too hard on just one aspect of their lives, and then feel surprised when meeting one goal still leaves them feeling unfulfilled. For a lot of people, getting in shape is one of the most motivating factors to choosing a healthier lifestyle. But if you just concentrate on working out, without also looking at making some changes to your nutrition to help support this, it’s more than likely you will burn out sooner or later, and be right back to where you started.

It’s a good idea to strip your lifestyle right back to start with. Work through your motivation, goals, action plan and support system. We help our clients build a sustainable way of life, which can continue long past just dropping that one dress size. It’s about retraining the way you think to build some new habits which are going to be with you for the rest of your life.

These habits are not just about the physical stuff either. It’s so important to train your mind to be happy, as well as training your body to be fit. True and lasting satisfaction is only going to come when you feel confident in your choices, encouraged by your results, and motivated enough to keep on making those good calls!
