Never believing your own hype is a critical component of sports psychology – you’re only as good as your next performance, so enjoy the moment, and focus on the next shot.
That’s exactly how the model, brand ambassador, and soon to be veterinarian, Brooke Lukehart lives her life – embracing the thrill of having and chasing a goal.
We caught up with her to discover her Focus Five.
WHO: in your life inspires you?
There are so many people in my life that have, and continue to inspire me. Most importantly, are my parents. They both are such hardworking people. Neither of them are into the social media, acting, or modeling aspect of my life, but that’s what is so important. They continuously keep me in check with my life, and keep me grounded. My dad has told me, “Remember where you came from.”, and it’s just so true. It’s easy to get caught up in activities, and sometimes I lose myself in it. I love the reality checks, and I really do appreciate it.
WHAT: does your big goal look like?
I will finish out college and hopefully become a veterinarian. That is the main goal. On the side, though, I would love to continue to grow my social media presence, as well as continue with my acting and modeling journey.
Most importantly, my ultimate goal is to just be happy. Happiness is a huge deal to me. It keeps me motivated. I also think it would be really cool to travel for a bit over the years.
WHEN: can you take another step towards success?
At any given time!
I have always preached that you are your biggest motivator, biggest competition, and if you put your mind to it, you can do it. It’s all about the dedication and drive that you possess. It just may take time. Hard work is what makes one successful. What you put in, is what you get out. Nothing is handed to you, and working for it makes the success feel more rewarding. I ,myself, am continuing every day, to take the next step towards success.
WHERE: you’ve visited that drives you to achieve?
My college campus definitely drives me to achieve academically. Aside from school, though, New York and Miami have given me so much inspiration and drive to accomplish my goals. I absolutely love the cities and the moods they set.
A few years ago, my family and I went on a trip out west, and one night I was literally looking at the Milky Way in Sedona, AZ (as funny as it sounds, it’s true!), and I thought to myself, “life is what you make it”. And that’s just what I am doing.
WHY: a memory of something you’ve done and WHY it pushes you to keep going?
I wouldn’t say that I have just one memory that keeps me going. It’s more of a continuous collection of memories and events.
I have a ton of people that will DM me asking for advice and things like that. I love connecting with the people that support me, and talking to them and seeing how I may have helped change something in their life, for the better. Hearing about how they took my advice and made a positive change always pushes me to keep going. The energy that they give me is such a great feeling, and I love to put that energy out to all of my supporters. It’s very, very rewarding.
