Wes Myron Fitness and the Elite Performance Lifestyle are all about adopting the right mindset to succeed in whatever it is you are doing in life.
The origins of this are from when Wes was establishing himself as a pro-athlete, and he was lucky enough to be coached by some of the world’s best coaches in fitness, sleep, nutrition and motivation. One thing that really made an impact on him and his future success was when a top sports psychologist told him that elite athletes do what he called the ‘Focus Zone’ every week, where they answer the following five questions to themselves:
- WHO: in your life inspires you?
- WHAT: does your absolute achievement look like?
- WHEN: is the next opportunity to take another step in the right direction towards your success
- WHERE: you’ve visited that drives you to achieve your end goal?
- WHY: a memory of something you’ve done and WHY it pushes you to keep chasing after your dream?
By reaffirming this on a regular basis then the person will increase their chances of success, no matter what they want to excel in.
To help inspire people to follow their dream, Wes is starting a new regular interview series about the Focus Zone on the blog, featuring people living some of the world’s most inspiring lifestyles answering these questions.
In the first of the new series profiling some of the world’s most inspiring lifestyles, Wes met up with globe-trotting events guru Antonella D’Angelo.
WHO: in your life inspires you?
Well, I get inspired everyday from inspirational souls around me, and those are the people I meet on my path… Life hasn’t been so easy for me, but I have always had a positive attitude and I never gave up. Basically, I eat good vibes for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and little snacks..! When people share their successful life stories with somebody else, they give hope and belief in dreams, and this is why I like to share my life story with everybody.
WHAT: does your absolute achievement look like?
My dream was studying Marketing and to work in Events around the world, where I was able to create amazing things, in beautiful places around the globe. And I made it happen.
I always thought nothing and nobody could stop me reaching my dreams and my life motto is “DREAMS ARE NEVER BIG ENOUGH!”. I paid for my private studies and, after my degree, I moved to London where I knew that starting a career in Events wouldn’t be such an easy thing as I only knew few words in English.
I was relentless in following my dream, so learned the language, and now I am lucky enough to travel to exotic places around the world creating amazing events!
WHEN: is the next opportunity to take another step in the right direction towards your success?
I live the present and make plans for the future. Opportunities are everywhere, now, here and there. I have never being waiting for the opportunity that comes to me, I go looking for it. Being proactive has taken me where I want to be, where I am now. People feel the energy of other people and their efforts. “Everything is possible.”
I am a big believer in writing goals to move forward. The first step toward making it happen is writing down the plan, the action steps, and the goal. I always write down my progresses and it helps me to remember where I started and all the achievements I have reached till today. Written goals are powerful.
WHERE: you’ve visited that drives you to achieve your end goal?
I love travelling. I travel a lot for pleasure and work and this really gave me the opportunity to meet many amazing people and explore opportunities.
The place I love more than any other is the Amalfi Coast, and this is where my roots are. I would love to buy a big villa, and create beautiful events there. It’s on my to-do list!
WHY: a memory of something you’ve done and WHY it pushes you to keep chasing after your dream?
I remember clearly the day of my degree. I was sooo excited!!! 🙂 My parents came to visit me for the first time in Milan and they were very excited too. Two days after I moved to London. I found a job in the hospitality field while I was learning English. I always said to myself “Of course, I can do this!” A new adventure and a life challenge.
