Rising rock musician, Jonny Lynn is seeing his video content go viral online.
We caught up with him to find out his Focus Five.
WHO: in your life inspires you?
My biggest inspirations are the musicians that I grew up listening to. Music has been a passion ever since I was little. My parents would always be playing some music and they took me to my very first concert at the age of three. It was a Pink Floyd concert, and to this day they remain my favorite band.
I can still remember when I would watch all these rockstars playing on MTV – I would close my eyes, grab a broom and pretend it was a real guitar and also pretend that I was playing for thousands of people.
WHAT: does your big goal look like?
Working and making a living with music. Right now I currently have side hustles, but working entirely with music would be awesome.
I’ve learned a lot from the hustle, but my heart and soul belongs to music – so that is my biggest goal at the moment.
I’m always practicing guitar on my free time and posting my content online so far I can say that I’m very happy with all the engagement I’m getting from the followers.
WHEN: can you take another step towards success?
I believe that we should always be taking steps towards success ,big steps or small steps but they should be constant.
Always keep in mind what you’re passionate about, and think about how much you want it. A positive mentality can truly do wonders.
Visualize what you want – think of it as if it was real. You will get there – all of my biggest musical breaks have come from exactly this!
WHERE: you’ve visited that drives you to achieve?
I really love going into the woods by myself. I pay attention to every sound that nature makes and I take my time to meditate and reflect on my personal and professional life.
Meditating on the outdoors gets me in such a good mood that it’s like everything around me is more vivid and colorful. Since I live near NYC, going in the wild always does the trick for me
WHY: a memory of something you’ve done and WHY it pushes you to keep going?
There are plenty of memories that pushes me to keep going. Bad situations that I was able to overcome plays a huge role on that.
I’ve had the chance to meet plenty of my childhood rockstars – musicians that I would watch on MTV or listen on iconic albums when I was just a kid! They gave me a lot of advice and I take it all to heart.
